Job Description:


Bring your Oracle PL/SQL and SQL skills and join our team of creative technology problem solvers. Work collaboratively with a variety of our end users to design specifications to support their technology needs. Additionally, you'll work with Ellucian Banner System and other integrated third party systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create functional design specifications based on user needs and work closely with users to understand and manage expectations

  • Develop, maintain and modify PL/SQL Packages, Functions, Procedures and Triggers while enhancing existing code

  • Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated IT professionals

  • Manage projects, prioritize tasks and maintain lines of communication

  • Design and maintain assigned projects utilizing the appropriate application tools

  • Interface with the user community in the extraction and retrieval of required information

  • Test, deploy and support applications

  • Solve technology problems through the use of various debugging tools

  • Work with vendor technical support to resolve implementation, maintenance and other issues as necessary

  • Consistently exhibit a strong customer service perspective

Requirements:


REQUIRED BACKGROUND:



  • Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming as evidenced by implementing and maintaining database solutions

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

  • Two years' experience utilizing a relational database (preferably ORACLE)

  • A passion for education and a desire to apply recently learned knowledge to the workplace

  • Expert analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Background:



  • Strong Unix/Linux Experience

  • Experience with Banner baseline and self-service products

  • Familiarity with web programming and design

  • Knowledge of document management systems

  • Automation development and functionality testing

  • Experience with integrating data between systems (e.g. Ellucian Banner - Student Information System and TargetX - Applicant Recruitment Suite)
