Human Resources (HR) Generalist

HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) GENERALIST, Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC), to serve as an HR generalist for an assigned group of areas. Will provide HR advice and guidance to front line managers and employees with regard to employee relations; work with managers and staff to proactively identify and resolve HR concerns; assist with recruitment and onboarding of new staff; serve as HR advisor for people development processes including performance management, annual reviews, training, coaching and mentoring; identify training and development gaps and work with internal and external resources to close those gaps and create a culture of continuous development; and lead or participate in a range of strategic HR initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, training and development, rewards and recognition and staff engagement. Will report to the director of human resources (OVC).

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; a minimum of five years' HR generalist experience; ability to build trusted relationships with staff at all levels, listen to and process issues in an unbiased manner, and make sound recommendations; demonstrated commitment to supporting an inclusive workplace that values differences; in-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to HR; ability to handle sensitive confidential information and provide consultative support; a high level of initiative; excellent judgment; strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; exceptional interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational and event planning skills; and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and FileMaker.
