Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements:
GPA of 2.5 or higher
Prior experience with working at events ( CMD / IMC /Business majors preferred)
Desire to work in the field of event production after graduation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible work availability (ability to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends)
Ability to flourish in a rapidly changing environment

The Special Event and Manager ( SEMT ) Trainee is responsible for learning a variety of tasks, including:
1. Supervising events planned by CCES staff:
a. Assisting the clients and service providers to meet requirements as outlined in the event summaries
b. Resolving all on-site complications by communicating with service providers and full-time CCES staff
c. Ensure the delivery of the services necessary for an event including Catering, Set-up, Audio-Visual, and Public Safety, are being provided to the satisfaction of the client.
d. Resolving any problems with services provided at events.

2. The SEMT will learn these skills while working alongside SEM's, EMC's, and the Lead EMC's.

3. The SEMT will be expected to work on Set Up and Audio Visual shifts to prepare them for working independently and strengthen their knowledge about the operations of the Campus Center & Events office.

4. The SEMT will be expected to sign up for shifts during scheduling meetings with the Lead EMC to gain knowledge of event services and develop the necessary customer service skills.

Required Qualifications

Some experience working in the field of events.

Ability to work 10 - 20 hours per week.
