Collection Development & Management Program
The University of California San Diego Library seeks applications from highly motivated, innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented professionals to join the Library as our Social Sciences Collections Strategist/Political Science Librarian (Assistant, Associate or Full Librarian). This position reports to the Assistant Director of the Library's Collection Development & Management Program. The Social Sciences Division awards 37% of all undergraduate degrees at UC San Diego, with 227 faculty, 670+ graduate students, and 7,000+ undergraduate majors. There are ten academic departments in the division, 4 interdisciplinary degree programs, and 23 Research Centers. Graduate programs in Cognitive Science, Communication, Economics, Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, and Political Science are highly ranked nationally or internationally.
Program Description
The Collection Development & Management Program (CDM) collaboratively supports the UC San Diego Library's mission of providing, managing, and preserving information resources in a variety of formats to meet the diverse and evolving teaching, learning, and research needs of our users. The program is essential to the academic success and scholarly productivity of students, faculty and researchers. The program plays a critical role in both supporting and transforming the cycle of scholarly communications through ongoing stewardship of the products of research, identifying strategies and innovative approaches to collecting and sharing digital scholarship, and actively participating in shared collection and Open Access initiatives.

Salary: Salary and level of appointment in the Librarian series commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the University of California pay scales.
