Position Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is searching for a faculty member with expertise in Structural Engineering to complement the faculty in Civil and Environmental Engineering (https://www.engr.wisc.edu/department/civil-environmental-engineering/). Areas of interest include development of new structural systems through large-scale laboratory experimentation; structural applications of new and non-traditional materials; rapidly deployable and reconfigurable structures; structural fuses with large deformation tolerance; new structural designs for improved blast and impact resistance; and use of self-sensing materials for immediate and long-term assessment of structural condition. This is a full-time tenure-track or tenured position and is open at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor rank. Exceptional candidates will also be considered at the Full Professor rank. Faculty Scholar Fellowships and an endowed Professorship in Structural Engineering may be awarded to the successful candidate.
