Summary of Job Duties
The Graduate Assistant for Assessment and Student Staff Development assists the Assistant Director for Assessment and Staff Development with the day-to-day responsibilities of the University Recreation assessment planning and student staff development programming.
Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate, develop, and lead new employee onboarding to ensure consistent information and preparation is provided to all part time employees.Develop, implement, and maintain consistent human resource documentation (trainings, certifications, evaluations, position descriptions, etc.)
  • Develop and implement trainings, activities, and programs designed to promote professional and personal development in and out of the workplace
  • Coordinate, develop, and lead annual all-staff trainings
  • Co-instruct UREC University, a program exclusively for UREC student employees to aid in professional development and improve upon their success through co-curricular learning and experiences
  • Help create and develop new methods to improve student staff performance, engagement, and morale
  • Oversee employee recognition awards and events
  • Help establish a student staff alumni database and collaborate on outreach efforts
  • Participate in departmental assessment efforts to continually enhance services
  • Conduct assessment and solicit feedback of student trainings and development modules
  • Contribute to collaborative departmental programming and training efforts
  • Attend departmental staff meetings and additional college and/or university meetings and events when needed
  • Teach American Red Cross CPR / AED and First Aid classes
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a minimum 3.0 grade point average
  • Admission to a College of Education and Health Professions graduate degree program
  • Satisfactory completion of the GRE will be required prior to employment with the department of University Recreation
