Summary of Job Duties
Program Responsibilities include: UREC Facilities, Donna Axum and UREC Fitness Center, and Other Program Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities within UREC Facilities include: assist with event management in the HPER building, coordinate all internal ( UREC ) facility reservations, hire, train, schedule, manage, and evaluate facility assistant student staff, maintain payroll for facility assistant staff, ensure that facility assistants hold current CPR , First Aid and AED and other certifications, conduct regular staff trainings/in-services, assist in purchases, diagnostics, safety, inventory and maintenance of building equipment, develop and maintain all risk management and building policies and procedures, assist with oversight of UREC Crew student staff, guide through preventative maintenance tasks, and assist with work days at Mitchell St. Outdoor Fields Complex.
Specific Responsibilities within Donna Axum and UREC Fitness Center include: manage day-to-day operations of both fitness centers, hire, train, schedule, manage and evaluate fitness center student staff, maintain payroll for fitness center staff, ensure that fitness center attendants hold current CPR , First Aid and AED and other certifications, conduct regular staff trainings/in-services, monitor equipment usage, safety and maintenance, assist with purchasing and inventory of fitness center equipment, assist in collecting and reporting participant information for the purpose of annual reports and data collection, help with the creation and maintenance of area budgets, and assist with the planning, organizing, coordination and implementation of offered programs.
Other Program Responsibilities include: contribute to collaborative departmental programming and training efforts, update, on a regular basis, all position manuals and training schedules, attend departmental staff meetings and additional college and/or university meetings and events when needed, teach American Red Cross CPR / AED and First Aid classes, and other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a minimum 3.0 grade point average
  • Admission to a College of Education and Health Professions graduate degree program
  • Satisfactory completion of the GRE will be required prior to employment with the department of University Recreation
