Accounting Assistant - Foster Hospital for Small Animals


The Henry and Lois Foster Hospital for Small Animals provides 24-hour care for pets 365 days of the year. Since 1979, we have offered high quality medical care, consultation, referral and emergency veterinary services for the care of dogs, cats and exotic pets. In addition, the hospital creates a positive learning experience for TCSVM students and student technicians with regard to small animal medicine.

Responsibilities include monitoring SAH Accounts Receivables and processing monthly client statements. Duties also include auditing client invoices, daily deposit reconciliations, A/R deposits, client billing questions, client communication. Responsible for the Clinical Accounts Receivables for the Small Animal Hospital Grafton Campus.



Qualifications:


Basic Requirements:

One to three years experience in accounts receivable collections activity and a High School Diploma or the equivalent. Computerized client billing and payment processing and some Microsoft Word and Excel skills. Candidate must have strong communication skills when dealing with clients and have the ability to provide good customer service when dealing with financial interactions on a daily basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor s Degree in Accounting is preferred. One to three years experience in accounts receivable. Must be flexible and be able to react quickly to a variety of situations. Must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision during evening and weekend shifts. Must act as a role model for co-workers, students and clinicians, always maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

The schedule is Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm and includes participation in a holiday and on call rotation. This position is considered essential and is therefore required to report to work as scheduled during emergency closings.
