Student Records and Data System Report Writer

POSITION: A full-time university staff position is available in Blugold Central beginning  December 18, 2017. The working title for this assignment is Student Records and Data Systems Report Writer with an official title of IS Business Automation Senior.  This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary.  The expected hourly hiring salary will be $24.48.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of policies and academic structure of the University.
  • Working knowledge of principles, practices and methods or database structures and computer programming.
  • Working knowledge of the following computing tools, technologies and environments:
    • Student Information Systems
    • Reporting tools (e.g. Oracle’s Interactive Reporting Workspace, Oracle BI)
    • Databases, data tables, and basic knowledge of programming
    • Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook
  • Understanding of student and curricular data that supports the operational and academic functions of the University.
  • Ability to create reports, queries, and documentation utilizing reporting tools.
  • Ability to perform a variety of technical duties involved in the development, maintenance, and analysis of a reporting structure.
  • Ability to verify and assure accuracy of data.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to complete work requiring accuracy, problem solving, communication and attention to detail.
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication, organizational, analytical, problem solving and resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize and meet schedules; including the ability to set timelines, identify priorities and organize tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action within clearly defined guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.

DUTIES:

  • Evaluate data requests to identify business requirements to develop queries and create reports in a reporting tool.
  • Assist in the development of reporting structures.
  • Regulating access to the reporting tool and training end users.
