Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline (must have attained the degree by January 2018) with at least one degree (B.S. or M.S.) in Chemical Engineering. Industrial or Post-Doctoral experience is desired. The applicant must have demonstrated research success with priority given to research expertise in bioprocess/biochemical/biomolecular engineering, or materials processing, or research related to renewable energy. A research plan incorporating both experiments and computational work is preferable. The applicant must be committed to teaching and research activities of the highest academic and professional caliber, and maintain a student-centric approach at all times, thus contributing to the development of students as productive, responsible, and caring citizens of the world. Applicants must have a strong commitment to: (a) teaching and working with a diverse population of students at the undergraduate and Masters levels, (b) teaching core and elective undergraduate and Masters-level Chemical Engineering courses, with priority given to unit operations, and plant design expertise, (c) curricular development to complement and further advance the current curriculum, (d) laboratory development that will enhance the quality of education and research opportunities provided to the students, (e) development of externally funded research and laboratory development activities, and (f) should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, have excellent written and oral communications skills, and be a team player.

Responsibilities:
Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies, research activities, and advisement. A faculty member is expected to collaborate in instruction, student and industry projects, research, and advising. A faculty member is expected to contribute to shared governance within the Department, the College, and the University.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting Date: August 20, 2018
