HUMAN RESOURCES BENEFITS REPRESENTATIVE II, Human Resources (HR), to deliver exceptional service and counseling to MIT faculty, staff, retirees, beneficiaries, and vested terminated employees, while providing administrative support for plan administration. Responsibilities include answering participant inquiries regarding eligibility, plan provisions/options, enrollment, etc.; performing plan enrollment counseling; transaction processing; problem solving and advocacy for faculty, staff, and retirees; staying current on relevant HR and benefit industry trends and topics; developing an understanding of and using internal and external resources, including plan documents and summary plan descriptions, to research and resolve problems; analyzing requests against benefit plan provisions and entering transactions into both vendor and MIT systems/databases; using Request Tracker software to respond to inquiries; processing benefit plan enrollments, changes, and cancellations; scanning documents into Optix; and participating in projects as needed.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: at least three years' HR/benefits and customer service experience; working knowledge of ERISA requirements and ERISA based plans; excellent problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer interfacing skills; attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office and web applications and ability to learn information systems, especially SAP; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; and initiative, flexibility, and willingness to change and be accountable. Must be able to prioritize competing demands and follow through on tasks despite constant interruptions; work with minimal supervision; consult with customers and stakeholders, probe customer inquiries to find resolutions, and work effectively with clients in person and by telephone and email; and to work within a team environment, providing support to and collaborating with colleagues. Fluency in a second language a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred. Job #15342-5
