Payroll Assistant


Clark University's Financial Services seeks to fill the position of Payroll Assistant. Reporting to the Payroll Manager of the Financial Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing all aspects of a bi-weekly payroll in an accurate and timely manner for 1300+ employees. Maintaining confidentiality; assisting in reconciliations; generating related reports; and responding to inquiries.

Included in a range of responsibilities, the Payroll Assistant will perform all functions related to onboarding graduate student employees including verification of employment eligibility; establishing employment records, reviewing and entering payroll authorizations; and processing of associated bi-weekly payroll as well as other projects and duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have high School diploma or general education diploma (GED) with at least 2 years of payroll experience or a comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Also, the ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information, to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, to work independently and exercise sound judgment and to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously are highly required. The Payroll Assistant must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail as well as strong customer service skills.

Technical qualifications include a solid knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Familiarity with Banner payroll software and understanding international treaty benefits/tax rules using international tax navigator software are preferred.

This is a part-time, 25 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include 4 weeks' vacation, free use of campus fitness center and many more. The preferred schedule is as follows.
