Description

The University of Houston-Downtown invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health and Behavioral Science beginning in August 2018. This position is in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

 

Health and Behavioral Science is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program with concentrations in patient/healthcare navigation and gerontology.

 

Candidates would be responsible for contributing to the program curriculum, establishing a robust program of research involving students, as well as contributing more broadly to the university’s mission.

 

Qualifications

  • A doctorate in public health or a health-related field (community health, health promotion, human services, etc.) from an accredited institution is required at the time of employment.
  • Candidates must be prepared to teach introductory courses in health systems, payment systems, healthcare case management, healthcare ethics, and/or health policy. 
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service, and have an established area of research related to health and behavioral sciences.
