Function:
Prepare food according to established quality food standards.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Prepare food for the cafeteria grill (frying, grilling, baking, etc.).

2. Maintain friendly and helpful customer service.

3. Maintain a sanitary cafeteria area, according to State of Illinois Department of Public Health standards.

4. Prepare food and provide assistance for various caterings and events.

Physical Demands:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Position requires visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

Very loud noise

Typical office or administrative conditions (i.e. not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions).

Required Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

2. One year experience in the food service area, to include basic line cook experience and an understanding of proper sanitary practices.

3. Possess a Certificate of Sanitation by the State of Illinois Department of Public Health, or the ability to obtain certificate within 30 days.

4. Demonstrate cleanliness and good quality of work.
