Electrician


Clark University's Physical Plant seeks to fill the position of Electrician. Reporting to the Supervisor, Electric and Telecom of the Physical Plant, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all types of electrical equipment and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
Included in a range of responsibilities, the Electrician will Install and maintain electrical systems including those related to other equipment such as HVAC, boilers, controls, alarms, valves, VFD's, elevators, etc. The Electrician will also respond to, troubleshoot and correct building electrical and alarm systems, maintain, install and inspect existing and/or new, electrical & telecommunication installations in coordination with Physical Plant staff. In addition, the Electrician will prepare and submit work documentation, to include work order submission and maintain compliance with national, state and local codes as well as other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience as a licensed electrician. Must possess and maintain valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician's License and valid Massachusetts driver's license. Knowledge of electrical safety practices, NFPA Guidelines, fire suppression systems, industrial electrical equipment, occupational hazards and safety precautions and the principles and methods of electrical installation, repair, and maintenance is required. Successful candidate must recognize and adhere to OSHA safety standards and must have the ability to communicate, interact and work cooperatively, effectively and professionally with all people, including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds as well as contractors, manufacturers, vendors, and consultants.
Before September 1, 2021, this is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more. After September 1, 2021 the position will revert to Part-time 20 hours/week, 12 months/year with the specific daily schedule to be determined during the summer of 2021.
