Position Description:
The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, is very pleased to invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track, academic year faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank beginning Fall 2018.

We are particularly seeking candidates with teaching and research interests in: operations research/optimization, logistics, enterprise/industrial analytics, production planning and facilities design, engineering/project management, industrial simulation, ergonomics, and/or design of industrial systems such as those in the healthcare, energy, financial services, information services, and manufacturing industries.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial engineering, establish an externally-funded research program, contribute to mentoring students, and provide services to the department, the university, and the community.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):


Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, operations research, or a closely related field is required.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and laboratory and project-based instruction and a broad-based knowledge of industrial engineering. Demonstrated ability in written and oral use of the English language is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.

Special Conditions:
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

May be required to complete a Supplemental Employment Application Questionnaire, which contains questions pertaining to conviction history, and submit it when requested by Cal Poly. This disclosure is confidential and will not necessarily preclude applicants from employment.
