Job Description:
HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) GENERALIST, Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC), to serve as an HR generalist working with Student Financial Services and other assigned areas. Will provide HR expertise, advice, and strategic input on policy interpretation, recruitment and retention, onboarding, diversity and inclusion, performance management, training and development, employee relations, and staff engagement. Responsibilities include partnering with managers and staff to proactively identify and resolve HR issues (i.e., employee relations problems, performance concerns, performance development, job development, hiring, compensation, conflict resolution, etc.); and participating in a variety of projects and initiatives that require knowledge of and experience with current human resource laws, policies, and practices. Will report to the director of human resources (OVC).
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; a minimum of five years' HR generalist experience; in-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to HR; ability to handle sensitive confidential information and provide consultative support; a high level of initiative; excellent judgment; strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to build trusted relationships with staff at all levels, listen to and process issues in an unbiased manner, and make sound recommendations; demonstrated commitment to supporting an inclusive workplace that values differences; exceptional interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational and event planning skills; attention to detail; and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and FileMaker.
