Coordinator of Field Education Online/Low Residency MSW Program - HOURLY

( 20 hours per week)
Title Position Reports To: Director of Field Education and the Director Online/Low Residency MSW Program.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of Field Education (Hourly) is responsible for administration of field education for the Low-Residency program. The position reports to the Director of Field Education and the Program Director of the Hybrid MSW. The Coordinator of Field Education is part of an administrative team that works collaboratively within the center as well as with other administrators from the Garden City campus and the other extension centers.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Field Education :
Develop and evaluate the online field component of the Hybrid MSW program.
Conduct placement-planning meetings with entering MSW students.
Perform educational assessments and assign field placements to graduate students.
Develop employment based field education plans for students employed in qualifying human service agencies.
Oversee Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) for new agency field instructors in the low residency program.
Hire and supervise adjunct faculty serving as Faculty Field Liaisons for the Low-Residency program, in collaboration with the Director of Field Education.
Orient new adjunct faculty field liaisons to the position.
Assign faculty field liaison workload, in collaboration with the Director of Field Education.
Maintain field education database for low-residency program students and agencies.
Provide consultation to faculty liaisons in developing educational contracts for students who are experiencing difficulty in developing identified competencies.
Oversee educational planning and problem resolution process for students experiencing difficulties in field performance.
Distribute and oversee collection of field assessments for all students.
In collaboration with the Director of Field Education develop and implement online and face to face educational forums for field instructors.
Additional Responsibilities :
Serve on School Committees as assigned.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with students, faculty, and agency personnel.
Knowledge of distance field placement
Comprehensive knowledge and skills in social work supervision and field instruction.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Online Course Management Programs
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
M.S.W. (Masters in Social Work) from a CSWE accredited School of Social Work; minimum of six years post-M.S.W. direct practice experience including three years of relevant supervisory and administrative experience; experience in field education or related area(s) of social work education, and relevant experience in providing training to practitioners.
