Assistant Professor of Construction Management

Job Summary:

Scope:
The Successful candidate will teach Construction courses including the following: BIM design, Construction Methods, and Materials, Applied Soils & Foundations, Estimating, Construction Specifications, Construction Project Controls Technology, Electronics. Other teaching responsibilities may include general core courses taught in the Technological Studies program.

Principal Responsibilities:
Teach courses including the following: BIM design, Construction Methods, and Materials, Applied Soils & Foundations, Estimating, Construction Specifications, Construction Project Controls Technology, Electronics. Other teaching responsibilities may include general core courses taught in the Technological Studies program.

Required Skills:
Position requires a high level of technical expertise and teaching and/or industrial experience in construction management, project management, construction operations and design. Demonstrated teaching excellence in the classroom, a record of professional organization involvement, and work with student and/or civic groups are highly valued.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. is preferred, ABD considered, in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, or a related field. Three years of relevant experience in construction industry; strong communication skills; evidence of the potential to be an excellent teacher; commitment to experiential learning; understanding of assessment and accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will also provide leadership to the construction management major by assisting students in identifying co-op and internship opportunities, academic advising of students, construction management student group advisor, promoting the ONU construction management program to construction management firms in the mid-west, and pursue professional activities within and outside the university.

College Description:
The Department of Technological Studies is positioned in the College of Arts and Sciences and has four ATMAE accredited programs. The Department has five full-time faculty serving approximately 100 majors in Construction Management, Manufacturing Technology, and Technology Education.
