Sales Associate, Bookstore

The Bookstore Sales Associate provides reliable and independent assistance in maintaining and selling course materials, supplies, and other merchandise that directly affect the educational experience of students and the relationship experience with the community. Main responsibilities include the following: Manages trade book section; Determines titles to order and places orders for all general stock, new arrivals, and special event books; Process orders; Receives and shelves books; Controls backstock and processes returns in a timely manner; Manages wholesale orders from inception through delivery and payment; Orders, receives, prices, stores, shelves and returns merchandise and operates the cash register; Provides warm and professional customer service; Assists in phone and e-mail support; Greets all visitors in a manner that promotes a positive College-wide image. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, as well as flexibility to perform duties in a position that has constant interruptions.
• Must be detail oriented and some mathematical skills needed.
• Ability to build successful relationships with campus and community visitors.
• Ability to communicate and works effectively as a team member.
• Must exhibit maturity, reliability, composure, and stability under pressure in order to handle on-the-job challenges.

This is a part-time, up to 19 hours per week position.
