Course Description:
TRS 110 Topics in Scripture: John's Gospel and the Quest for Justice
An investigation of a topic in scripture not covered by the regular offerings of the department. Topics are announced prior to registration each semester. May be repeated for credit when content changes. Prerequisite: TRS 97 or 189. The topic in Spring 2018 will be John's Gospel and the Quest for Justice.

Please note that courses will be assigned to current qualified adjunct faculty members who apply during the first 14 days of the posting (BY SPECIFY END DATE) in the following order:
1. Seniority of those who have taught the course previously up to their average.
2. Seniority of those who have not taught the course up to their average.
3. Seniority rotation above their average up to seven (7) course values.

If the course is not assigned to a current qualified adjunct faculty member under the process above, it may be assigned to a new hire after the 14 day period for current adjunct faculty members to apply has elapsed.



Experience and Qualifications:

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in sacred scripture, with special work in the Johannine Corpus of the New Testament. Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of Catholic biblical hermeneutics, and the ability to make those principles understood to undergraduate students. Undergraduate teaching experience, as well as a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education, and enthusiasm for teaching in a student-centered learning community are all qualities that are highly desirable for this position.
