The University of Alabama School of Social Work invites applications for one renewable instructor faculty position. The position is a nine-month, full time, 1.0 FTE academic appointment scheduled to begin August 16, 2018. Summer teaching and administration are available. Duties include a combination of administration (. 5 FTE Coordinator of new Social Work Continuing Education Program) and instruction (. 5 FTE online and face-to-face). Additional duties include advising and serving on school, university and community committees.

Minimum Qualifications
We are seeking applicants who hold a Masters in Social Work with a minimum of two years post-Master's experience. Applicants must have knowledge of social work licensing requirements, understanding of alumni engagement strategies and experience working with multiple online instructional and administrative platforms. Applicants must have experience in administration and good organizational skills necessary to develop, coordinate and manage multiple workshop offerings in consultation with our university partner, College of Continuing Studies. In the area of instruction, we are looking for faculty who have clinical expertise to teach courses in psychopathology and clinical social work. Additionally, we are strongly invested in recruiting colleagues who, in their practice and teaching experience, demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse and underrepresented populations and communities, as well as a commitment to social justice. Applicants should have an interest and expertise in reaching our diverse student body through online and face-to-face instruction and advising.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed in clinical social work; strong background in a variety of community relationships and partnerships; knowledge of evidence-based practices and emerging educational trends in social work; applicants with a PhD will be considered.

The University's School of Social Work, established in 1965, has an accomplished faculty of 23 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 11 full-time teaching (instructor) faculty and 19 dedicated professional and support staff. Compensation
