The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Research Associate in the School of Library and Technology and PRIE, located at Miramar College. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Desired Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of the basics of salient issues and current methodologies in post-secondary educational research including accreditation, program/grant evaluation, student learning outcome assessment, transfer, completion, guided pathways and equity. 2. Experience applying intermediate research methods, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. 3. Working knowledge of basic principles of literature review, research design, data collection analysis, report preparation and presentation of results. 4. Working knowledge of basic principles of conducting qualitative studies (e.g., focus group, interview). 5. Expert knowledge of principles of survey design and techniques and experience of conducting survey studies. 6. Advanced skills and experience of using computer operation and software and statistical packages (e.g., Hyperion, SPSS, SAS, R, STATA, Tableau, Microsoft Office, SurveyMonkey, Google Forms) to manage data, perform statistical analyses, visualize and present findings. 7. Experience of applying techniques of project planning and time management. 8. Excellent report writing, oral communication, and presentation skills. 9. Expert knowledge of website utilities. 10. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 11. Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

Pay Information:
Range 28 ($4,261.44 $6,802.23) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
