Position Summary:
Provides direct assistance and advice to the President in achieving goals and objectives within all matters of institutional operations and in the work of the President's administrative Cabinet. Provides efficient and effective administrative assistance in the Office of the President and facilitates communication between the President and internal and external constituencies.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Undertakes special projects as directed by the President; organizes and manages groups to achieve project objectives; maintains liaison between these groups, the President, and parties of interest and ensures timely and accurate completion of special projects which may cross organizational lines.

Actively participates as a member of the Presidents Cabinet.

Assists in researching market to determine areas of College or program expansion. Attends critical stakeholder meetings with community and civic leaders and reports on developments as requested by the President. Requests or conducts research related to growth or project development.

Develops and writes proposals that will forge partnerships targeted toward increasing college enrollment and student success.

Must be able to use sound independent judgment in decision making to accomplish tasks that are urgent and sensitive in nature while meeting deadlines.

Researches, resolves, and responds to confidential problems and complaints from students, parents and other constituencies when resolution is not achieved at lower levels. Investigates situations including, but not limited to, formal appeals from disciplinary cases, requests for assistance by internal and external individuals, and complaints about personnel or policies which require attention of the Presidents Office. Proposes response to appeals, prepares follow-up letters for the Presidents signature, or completes the response with the appropriate communication procedure.

Safeguards the confidentiality of College administration by exercising discretion in communicating information to faculty, staff, students, and the public. Exercises confidentiality in handling administrative records, files, and similar confidential items.

Keeps abreast of all current issues being managed by the President to appropriately implement and communicate as directed by the President.

Facilitates the success of events hosted by the Office of the President by scheduling events with appropriate offices and agencies, advising/contacting participants or invited guests. Prepares agendas and programs, and arranging appropriate event materials.

May prepare speech material for the President; composes letters and reports.

Assures coordination between the Office of the President and other areas of the College to foster an administrative style that is quickly responsive to the needs of the constituencies of the College.

Required Qualifications:
Masters degree.

Minimum of three years experience at a college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:
Community college experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
Understanding of the mission of higher education and the unique role of public higher education

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to details and timelines within the College wide context for decisions, and legal implications

Strong commitment to diversity.

Strong organizational, communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively to facilitate effective decision making.

Pay Rate: $53,050 - $62,995 annual salary depending on experience
