Position Summary:

The primary role of this position is to coordinate and manage the Madison Street Medicine Initiative (MSMI), a new program planned by Madison Area Care of the Homeless. The MSMI was selected as a Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment awardee. The extremely competitive grant program is funded through a generous gift to the UW-Madison from Ira and Ineva Reilly Baldwin. The project entails volunteer health care providers performing weekly street rounds to offer a limited scope of direct health services to those who are homeless and in need. The second year of the project outlines a plan to move toward an advocacy and accompaniment model so that those experiencing homelessness gain confidence and trust in engaging with all components of the health care system (primary care clinic, hospital, and so forth).
