Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree in education, training, or related field is preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required Qualifications
* Minimum of one year hands-on experience of administration of an application with a moderate to large number of end users.
* Minimum of one year working directly with a learning management system, other learning technologies, or related software.
* Minimum of one year experience related to application support, either in a technical support area, academic department, computer lab, help desk, library, or training environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
* Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with video for educational or training delivery purposes.
* Hands-on experience with Kaltura or related product.
* Experience with software testing and understanding of quality assurance practices.
* Project management experience or familiarity with project management methodologies.

The Division of information Technology (DoIT) provides information technology services to UW-Madison, all UW campuses, and the UW System and other agencies, employing approximately 600 people and operating with a budget of approximately $100 million. The Learning Technologies Systems Administrator serves the teaching and learning mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison from within the Learn@UW-Madison service, a group located within DoIT's Academic Technology (AT) department (for more about AT and Learn@UW-Madison, see https://at.doit.wisc.edu/learn-uw/ ). The individual in this position supports the use of UW-Madison's centrally supported video platform, Kaltura MediaSpace, by providing application administration for the tool including configuration, quality assurance, user support, consultation, user support, and internal process improvement. In addition, the Learning Technologies Systems Administrator provides ancillary administration and user support for the learning management system (LMS) as well as other learning technologies supported by Learn@UW Madison, such as BlackBoard Collaborate web conferencing software and the AEFIS course evaluation and assessment tool.
