The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Five (5) Business Systems Analysts in the Student Services Department, located at the District Office. Hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform complex cross-departmental functional analysis including setup, mapping, testing, and troubleshooting of the student information system to recommend implementation practices.

2. Perform complex functional analysis of computer applications including report functions, assessment, scanning, and component testing.

3. Develop business process modifications and determine strategic solutions to provide consistency; Prepare business process documentation, write test scripts and lead testing efforts.

4. Analyze, evaluate, and test system upgrades, new releases, bundles, and patches. Review vendor documentation to identify processes and assess integration issues. Work with users and application developers to conduct performance and compliance testing and identify fixes or corrections.

5. Provide technical support and expertise for the student information system, including troubleshooting and resolving application or database problems. Serve as a liaison with application developers and Information Technology staff to solve complex procedural, operational, and technical problems.

6. Provide training to district staff responsible for end user training. Develop and compose procedures, user manuals and training material to maintain consistency of system use throughout the District.

7. Write, modify, and generate ad hoc queries and reports. Prepare various reports and summaries for management and/or users.

8. Set up and maintain security profiles for system users.

9. Collaborate and consult with other areas in the organization.

Knowledge of: Complex student information systems. One or more student services functions including admissions, financial aid, student accounting, and student records. District organization, operations, policies, and objectives. English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Laws, codes, regulations, and policies related to specialty area. Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including computer hardware and software. Principles, practices, methods, and terminology used in assigned functional areas. Research methodology, statistical analysis, report preparation, and presentation.Skills and Abilities To:. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Conduct research studies, analyze facts and data, develop recommendations, and prepare written reports. Develop documentation and provide training to other district staff. Develop procedures and user manuals. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Exercise independent judgment in assigned areas of responsibility. Interpret, explain, and apply laws, rules, policies, and procedures. Learn various student information systems and administrative sytems. Operate computers and business-related software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Supervise and evaluate performance of assigned clerical/technical staff Plan and organize work. Work independently with little direction.Training and Experience: Three to five years of increasingly responsible experience involving information systems analysis, including advising clients on technology solutions and conducting business process analyses and troubleshooting large and complex software applications.

Pay Information:
Range 11 ($5,121.07 $8,549.82) per month based on the current Supervisory and Professional Employees Association Salary Schedule A

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the SPAA Supervisory & Professional Administrators Association Handbook. This position is FLSA Exempt and does not accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
