Hourly Rate or Monthly Salary: Starting $5,547.50 per month

Working Hours: One regular, full-time, categorically-funded position, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, on the Oceanside campus. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This is an "extended day" position, subject to possible fluctuations in daily working hours, and may be exempt from compensation for overtime in excess of 8 hours in one day. Hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week period shall be compensated on an overtime basis. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.

Basic Function and Other Details:
Under the direction of the Dean, Admissions and Student Support, participate in the intensive analysis of functional requirements, analyze degree audit system and recommend the best method of set-up and use of the information system. Troubleshoot and monitor the audit system. Test, troubleshoot, and ensure data integrity of all vendor updates and patches to the system prior to release to the production system. Consult with other District staff on business process changes, research these changes for potential problems and develop and implement solutions. Consult with District staff in implementing integrated and non-integrated third party software applications. Identify the training needs of the District as they relate to the student information systems. Provide documentation on decisions, customizations, and installations to the degree audit system.

Representative Duties:
(E = essential job function)

1. Perform complex cross-departmental functional analysis including mapping, setup, system modeling, testing, and troubleshooting of degree audit system to recommend implementation practices. Perform complex functional analysis of third party computer applications, reporting functions, assessment, scanning, and other testing. Develop procedures and user manuals to maintain consistency of computer use throughout the District. (E)

2. Consult cross-divisionally to maximize functionality and the efficient use of the information system. Develop business process modifications and determine strategic solutions which may be technological, computer process-based, or staffing related to provide consistency and maintain compatibility of the student information system. Identify scope and impact of changes to existing business processes. Negotiate solutions, within system, personnel and resource parameters, when business processes create incompatibilities or business processes create more work in another department/division. Provide information to departments about unused and/or new functionality and instructions in applying new student information applications. (E)

3. In cooperation with Academic Information Services, test all student module patches, fixes, and updates in the test database to ensure proper functioning of the repaired system and proper integration with remaining student information systems. Also check system integrity and integration with the student administration systems prior to release to the production system. (E)

4. Analyze, test, and model the results of system setup to determine appropriate functionality, performance, data integrity, and third party software interface connections; augment and make recommendations for system changes/corrections as necessary. (E)

5. Develop documentation and provide training to other District staff responsible for end user training. (E)

6. Interact with vendors to determine if their computer products will function with our system and meet our needs. (E)

7. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:

1. Education equivalent to an Associate's degree AND two years of related work experience.

NOTE: For work experience, one "year" is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months, or at least 2,080 hours.

Desirable Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
