Degree and area of specialization:
The successful applicant must have obtained their MSc degree by the start date and should have a strong background in biostatistics, quantitative ecology, or a closely related discipline. PhD preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Strong statistical, programming, and GIS skills are essential, and experience in population analysis (e.g., mark-recapture and occupancy models) is preferred. Proficiency in the use of R for simulation analyses and Python for automating GIS analyses is also preferred. The successful applicant must be able to work both collaboratively within a dynamic team setting and recognize the fluid nature of applied conservation science.

Position Summary:
The Researcher will work on multiple ecological projects related to the conservation of endangered species. The Researcher will provide statistical and analytical support for a large laboratory group conducting applied conservation science. The position is analytically focused and based at UW-Madison, but opportunities exist for conducting fieldwork during the summer.
Additional Information:
Title prefix level will be determined at the time of hire based on the sucessful candidate's qualifications.
This position is expected to end on August 1, 2019. If additional funding is secured the position may be converted to an ongoing renewable appointment.
