IT Consultant II, Network and Computing Services



IT CONSULTANT II, NETWORK AND COMPUTING SERVICES, Alumni Association, to be responsible for system administration services for a large network computing environment, supporting alumni relations, the annual fund, communications, alumni records, and other service departments of the Alumni Association. Will provide high quality, front-line tech support, maintaining workstations (both Windows and Mac), laptops, and network printers; manage software and network development, i.e., test all upgrades and updates prior to deployment to production environment; work as a team member with other technical staff to ensure daily systems and servers operate; conduct one-on-one trainings and tech orientation to new employees; and evaluate new software and hardware to determine the best strategic solution for the Alumni Association. Will report directly to the director of desktop and computing services in the Information and Systems Services group.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a minimum of five years of experience supporting hybrid Windows and Macintosh environments; a bachelor's degree; solid knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of cross-departmental and -functional groups, multitask, manage competing priorities, and work successfully in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; strong customer service and problem solving skills; and willingness to learn about new technologies and take on new challenges. Must also be able to communicate effectively with people at all technical and position levels, deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment, and lift weights of up to fifty pounds. Knowledge of SCCM, MDT, vSphere, the win.mit.edu domain, and PCI preferred. Job #14837-O
