About the College/Department
Garvan Woodland Gardens are the Botanical Gardens of the University of Arkansas, located on a 200 acre peninsula on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. The gardens are composed of 60 acres of landscaped areas including Asian, English, and wildflower Gardens, a 45 acre nature preserve, and a number of special events and educational venues that attract over 150,000 annual visitors and is supported by over 3,000 member households.
Hot Springs is the home of America's first National Park and is the hub of the Diamond Lakes Recreational Region, one of the most popular areas for hiking and water recreation in the mid-south. The city is located in the scenic Ouachita Mountains and features low cost of living and great quality of life.

Summary of Job Duties
The Holiday Lights Technician will supervise, coordinate, and assist senior volunteers creating decorative display pieces for the Holiday Lights show. This position will inventory, organize, and pack millions of Christmas lights and large decorations. This position will be a team leader to a decoration crew of 15, installing lights and decorations in wrapped trees, set-pieces, and interiors.

• At least two years of experience in a professional design-oriented environment
• Self starter with little need for supervision

• Must love outdoors, all weather, and very hard work
• Impeccable attendance and work ethic a must
• Full-time weekday availability is non-negotiable as is reliable transportation

• Self-directed and motivated
• Substantial mechanical aptitude
• Uncommon attention to detail and willingness to frequently do things over at manager's discretion
• Outstanding independent and creative problem solving is a must
• Must not be afraid of heights or electricity
• Computer skills a plus
• Design skill or artistic talent a plus
