Job Summary | Family & Consumer Sciences Extension within the School of Human Environmental Sciences and College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking an Agriculture Extension Specialist who will support the development of instructional resources aimed at substance abuse issues across the Commonwealth. The primary responsibilities of this position include: program development, implementation and evaluation related to substance abuse; leadership, consultation, and training of extension field staff; grant writing, impact research; and, publishing. This position is contingent upon continued funding. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Minimum two years or more of successful experience working with addictions, counseling, demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills is strongly preferred. |
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? | No |
Preferred Education/Experience | Doctorate preferred. Have working knowledge of: DSM criteria; community resources in Kentucky; and, counseling and treatment techniques and methods. License as a Professional Counselor, Social Work, or Psychologist preferred. Driver's license preferred. |
