Position Summary and Responsibilities
- Coordinate targeted violence prevention programming, including comprehensive programming for all incoming students, student athletes, student leaders, and historically marginalized populations, e.g., students of color, international students, LGBTQ students, and students living with disabilities.
- Evaluate effectiveness of prevention efforts.
- Advise a team of student interns throughout the academic year.
- Collaborate with on- and off-campus groups to coordinate awareness-raising events and campaigns during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and throughout the academic year to foster campus dialogue on sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.
- Manage online educational programs and coordinate with various offices to track effectiveness and student participation.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Title IX campus surveys, assessments, and program evaluations pertaining to sexual violence.
- Assist with the facilitation of wellness related programming in collaboration with the Office of Health Education as it intersects with SAVP, e.g. on topics such as the relationship between alcohol/other substances and consent.
- Provide support and direct advocacy to survivors of sexual violence, as this arises, but not as a primary job responsibility.
Qualifications
Required: Master's degree in Higher Education, Public Health, Law, Social Work, or related field or equivalent experience. Knowledge of principles, research, and best practices as they relate to primary prevention, specifically in a college setting. Cultural competence and ability to work sensitively with a diverse student body. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. Flexible to work nights and weekends. Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn how to operate audio and visual technology equipment for use during workshops and presentations. Preferred: Two years experience in the field of sexual violence prevention. Experience working in higher education. Demonstrated training in evidence-based prevention programs, such as Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP), Green Dot, and Bringing in the Bystander
