Job Summary:

Starting pay is based on experience, with a minimum starting rate of $17.25 an hour.

This position supports the UW-Madison Department of Chemistry. The department has approximately 500 employees and an operating budget of $12 million. It is comprised of approximately 40 faculty, 90 academic staff and 35 university staff. The department has over 250 graduate students and over 100 postdegree trainee, honorary and student appointments.

Under the general direction of the department administrator and in collaboration with the HR assistant, the payroll and benefits specialist is responsible for payroll, appointment coordination and assisting with benefits administration.

Individual must be able to work occasional overtime hours. Core hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility.
