Program Administrator (UCP 6), MS in Business Analytics & Project Management Pr


The School of Business MS in Business Analytics and Project Management Program (MSBAPM) is seeking a full-time Program Administrator, UCP 6. The incumbent will report to the Associate Director of MSBAPM and will coordinate and manage the day-to-day administrative activities and provide technical program support for the Stamford cohorts of the MSBAPM Program. The position will be based at the Stamford campus, with an expectation of occasional travel to the Graduate Business Learning Center in downtown Hartford as well as other campuses and locations in Connecticut in support of program needs. Evening and weekend hours will also be required based on program needs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinating and managing administrative support and program services for MSBAPM faculty, staff and students; managing general office operations; processing and maintaining administrative paperwork and maintaining records.
  • Participating in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of program services such as student orientations and alumni, career, educational and cultural events.
  • Serving as a resource to current and prospective students on academic policies and program information.
  • Compiling program and student data to track program competitiveness and applicant matriculation; preparing and submitting reports for the program including, but not limited to, the GMAC report for Stamford cohorts.
  • Engaging in promotional activities for student recruitment and project placement such as open houses, conferences and company visits.
  • Assisting with the admissions process, which includes screening applications and making recommendations to the admissions committee.
  • Coordinating the registration and scheduling of courses with responsibility for rosters, grade reports and academic records.
  • Assisting in advising students regarding academic program planning and course selection; coordinating degree certification procedures.
  • Maintaining relationships with program alumni.
  • Training and supervising graduate student employees.
  • Responding to requests for information and serving as a liaison between the program, other internal offices, external constituents and the public.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Four to five years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills and proven experience taking initiative in and coordinating administrative functions responsibly and independently using sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students and administrators as well as external agencies and the public.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating, planning and executing program, center, or school events.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide program support, advise students, interpret educational records and related program information.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising others.
  • Willingness and ability to travel in-state to the Graduate Business Learning Center in downtown Hartford, as well as other University campuses and locations in Connecticut in support of program needs.
  • Willingness and ability to work evening and weekend hours as required based on program needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Prior experience in a higher education environment in a university setting.
  • Understanding of the business community to be served by the program.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with social media and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience working with graduate level students.
  • Demonstrated experience using a student administration system such as Peoplesoft.
  • Demonstrated experience or familiarity working with international students, programs, or constituents.
