Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

BS in Botany, Biology, Wood Science, Wood Technology or substantially related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

One year or more of experience with forensic wood anatomy and identification. Prior experience training and supporting law enforcement with forensic wood anatomy, and technology transfer in forensic wood identification preferred.

Position Summary:

This position will support the cooperative projects between the University of Wisconsin, Department of Botany and the Center for Wood Anatomy Research. In particular, this position will focus on forensic wood science in the investigation of forest product supply chains. It will also engage in general forensic wood science service and research support, as well as support basic research in botanical wood anatomy and biocentric wood science.
