Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Prefer 2-4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Experience in development and/or maintenance of financial systems.
- Experience writing and developing queries.
- Experience and knowledge in PeopleSoft Financials or comparable ERP system.
- Experience and knowledge segregation of duties as related to system security and functional roles within financial applications.

- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with management and staff at all levels, as well as other offices and divisions/departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes.
- Effective system user training and support knowledge, skills and experience.
- Strong IT skills in personal computing.
- Experience using document imaging software, Perceptive Content ImageNow preferred.
- Experience in data query tools, preferably SQL Developer, Brio Query, or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
- Financial reporting systems (PeopleSoft, Hyperion and/or other query tools) advanced excel experience (pivot tables, advanced queries) SQL report writing are all desirable experience.
- Knowledge of system integration and customer acceptance testing methodologies.

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting, Analysis & Systems, this position will serve as the financial systems technical lead for the Accounting Services Department within the Division of Business Services. This position is responsible for supporting, analyzing and developing financial related systems within the University of Wisconsin-Madison Accounting Services Department. This position will serve as the technical lead for Image Now, a document imaging application used for Accounts Payable, Gifts and various other areas within Accounting Services. In addition, this position serves a lead role in the design and maintenance of the Shared Financial System (SFS), a PeopleSoft product working specifically with financial applications (GL, AP, PO, AR, BI, and AM). This position will also play an important role in providing financial data and analysis for both internal and external stakeholders.
