The Purchasing Department is responsible for the administration of all purchasing activities on campus in accordance with the University s established policies, procedures and governmental regulations. Purchasing negotiates and manages contracts with Tufts suppliers, and is accountable for the efficient procurement of goods and services through the use of competitive bidding, negotiation, and consortia agreements. Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sourcing plans to ensure we are achieving the best value from our suppliers.

A key member of the Purchasing Team responsible for supporting the IT software, Hardware and Services categories to ensure the best value, mitigated financial risk and ensure fiscal diligence is achieved for all projects and purchases assigned. The primary area of responsibility is to develop and lead competitive sourcing strategies and events in close coordination with Department Directors that safeguard services and the best interests of the university. This role will negotiate and manage key supplier contracts.



Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
The candidate should possess a Bachelor s Degree with 7-10 years relevant experience, knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must have experience managing IT Software, Hardware and Services spend categories
Extensive contract negotiation experience
Knowledge of purchasing principles
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong capacity to prioritize work and projects
Skilled at producing cost savings
Cost analysis proposal summary skills
Excellent collaboration and team leadership skills
