Summary of Job Duties
The Associate Director for annual giving will assist with the execution of a comprehensive multichannel annual giving (fundraising/marketing) program, including direct mail, email, and social media marketing, crowdfunding, giving days, volunteer management, stewardship, and leadership annual giving.
The Associate Director will create and implement plans for increased or future cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of various donor segments. This position will also provide strategy suggestions to the director utilizing knowledge of annual giving/marketing best practices and data analytics insights.
This position will also act as a daily liaison with the National Phone Campaign Manager, as well as the Gift Services, Records, Advancement Research, and Advancement Information and Technology Services teams.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Strong, creative written communication skills as evidenced in application documents
  • Two or more years of annual giving and/or marketing experience in non-profit and/or business sectors
  • Two or more years of experience writing and creating content for marketing material in non-profit and/or business sectors
  • Two or more years of experience working with complex data processes and large data sets pulled from a CRM for market segmentation
  • At least three years of experience in project management and in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration in marketing from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Three or more years of annual giving and/or marketing experience in non-profit and/or business sectors
  • Two or more years of experience in direct mail marketing
  • Two or more years of experience in email marketing
  • One or more years of experience in social media marketing, including Facebook and Instagram ads
  • Proven success in managing fundraising/marketing campaigns, as evidenced by application materials
  • Two or more years of experience analyzing data to track KPIs and ROI
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Advance or similar CRM
  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports, Power BI, and/or similar business insights software
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar project management tool
  • Familiarity with iModules software or similar email marketing tool
  • One or more years of experience applying predictive analytics to donor/market segmentation
  • One or more years of supervisory experience
  • One or more years of experience managing volunteers
  • One or more years of experience making personal solicitations
