Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the campus network, including documentation, configuration, procedures, service records, installation, troubleshooting, routine preventive measures, security and stability. These duties pertain to both wired and wireless networks.Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Minimum of three (3) years relevant job experience.
Demonstrated ability to maintain meaningful preventive maintenance schedules.
Familiarity of networking capabilities of various operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows 2000, MAC OS X, Linux, etc.
Working knowledge of the latest wireless technologies.
Concept of layer 2 concepts such as spanning-tree, VLANs, etc.
Knowledge of routing protocols.
Experience with IDS/IPS technologies.
Understand WAN technologies such as frame relay, T1, DS3, etc.
Demonstrated ability to apply exceptional troubleshooting and communication skills, as well as the ability to interact successfully with the end user.
Ability to analyze network packet captures to determine problems
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive attitude.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Willing to be on call.
