Supervisor Service Assistant

Job Description:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Eligible for Overtime

Salary: $17.51 per hour

Job Summary: The Supervisor Service Assistant is responsible for providing cleaning services by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work process.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities. Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Satisfies training requirements by training staff on cleaning methods, equipment operation, or room set up.

Maintains operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work; implementing productivity standards; resolving operations problems; responding to emergencies; maintaining records; implementing new procedures. Ensures daily work is accomplished by performing Service Assistant staff duties as needed. Assists in ensuring building is operational by securing keys, inventorying furniture and fixtures; verifying square footage to be maintained; inventorying and ordering cleaning supplies; troubleshooting reported malfunctions.

Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations, preparing chemical for cleaning supplies. Provide quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of lead or supervisory experience.


Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Satisfactory results from a post-offer physical examination.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of training and supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of job-related policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Windows.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations.
  • Knowledge of basic Spanish/English communications.
  • Knowledge of basic record keeping techniques.
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and resources.
  • Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office.
  • Skill in leadership techniques.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to communicate verbally.
  • Ability to draft grammatically correct correspondence.
  • Ability to schedule and manage multiple teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and recommend improvements in operations.


Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 20 lbs.


Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors/outdoors and not sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and noxious fumes on occasion.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
