Director of Enrollment

The Director of Enrollment will be responsible for the marketing and enrollment strategies for the institution to ensure new enrollment goals are met. He/she will develop and execute strategies and tactics to reach new student audiences to include traditional and nontraditional populations, building the institution's brand and reputation, with an emphasis on expanding the footprint throughout the world. He/she will ensure that positioning in the market place is unique for the audience and the marketing plan drives achievement of projected growth. This individual will lead a team of marketing and enrollment professionals and will be responsible for ensuring that the highest quality staff members are hired, trained and developed.

Enrollment Management:
Continued refinement of the internal and external enrollment vision, strategy, and operating plan to deliver on both the short and long term quality new student goals
Oversees hiring of all Enrollment staff; maintains staffing plans, training and development, motivation, and ongoing management of such staff including monthly, quarterly and annual reviews
Reviews and ensures compliance with training certification training plan; ongoing observations; turnover prevention via training and support provided.
Establishes forecasts and ongoing measurements to assure that quality customer service is provided from the point of inquiry through the enrollment process that ends in a successfully enrolled student.
Responsible for ensuring that Enrollment teams operate with the highest integrity, honoring and complying with all regulatory requirements
Responsible for managing and directing budgets for the assigned departments
Ensures compliance with all education standards, the highest ethical standards, and compliance with all federal, state and accreditation requirements.
Strategically aligns an efficient team to ensure adequate support for distinctly different and unique schools/campuses in order to benefit from best practices.

Marketing:
Develops, leads, and coaches a team of global marketing professionals who drive marketing strategies for the art and design disciplines
Develops and implements marketing and branding strategies to reach enrollment targets both domestically and internationally
Develops deep base of consumer insight, track key marketing metrics driving the business and the specific field of study
Supports process to identify prospective students and develop materials and approaches for successful student counseling leading to student enrollment, successful graduation and subsequent referral
Leads the development of the marketing strategies for target audiences/programs.
Works with academic leadership, product management, product development and enrollment management to develop an in-depth understanding of the target market.
Applies these insights to developing a marketing strategic plan to reach the respective audience.
Identifies when resources are needed outside of the company to understand the target market.
Represents the marketing communications team as a member of the marketing leadership team.
Identifies issues; engage appropriate marketing team members as necessary.
Ensures audience-marketing plans are synergistic with overall educational institution positioning and strategies
Tracks performance of marketing strategy through measurement and analysis of prospective student inquiries, conversion, and retention to understand effectiveness and ROI.

External Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors' degree required. MBA or graduate level education desirable, but not necessary for success.
Minimum 5-10 years admissions management experience in a proprietary higher education institution required with a minimum of 3 years at the Director level (depending upon scope of previous positions).
Brand management experience with educational institution , preferred.
Co-marketing, advertising, membership marketing, direct and/or web marketing experience is a plus.
Stakeholder collaboration experience, with the ability to quickly develop and manage both internal and external relationships across cultural and geographical boundaries; the ability to use a collaborative model to leverage resources effectively.
Demonstrated ability to communicate issues and recommendations persuasively and effectively to key stakeholders
Must have demonstrated research and analytic skills, as well as the ability to take disparate information (research data, brain storming ideas, etc.) and make strategic recommendations quickly.

BUSINESS COMPETENCIES

Experience in understanding market research and business analytics; integrate with market and product knowledge, to develop marketing strategies and plans for the audience.

Must have experience developing and managing a budget and understanding financial implications of marketing programs.

Previous experience in the for-profit higher education marketplace is required.
