Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required; MSSW preferred

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

- 3 or more years of work experience in the field of human services
- Successful record developing and implementing large events, preferably developing and implementing conferences or continuing education events
- Successful experience managing projects with deadlines and budget parameters, preferably in event management
- Experience working independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of current issues in child welfare preferred

Position Summary:

The Human Services Conference Director will provide leadership and management for conferences and continuing education programs within the Behavioral Health unit, that contribute to department enrollment and revenue goals.

Additional Information:

We are seeking an individual to join our Behavioral Health team within the Department of Liberal Arts & Applied Studies (LAAS) in the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) at UW-Madison. The Behavioral Health team provides more than 100 professional development programs per year for social workers and other mental health and human service professionals.The Division is especially interested in qualified candidates who will contribute to diversity within our workforce.

This is a 2 year positions, with the posibility of converting to a renewable position in the future if funding and need permits.
