Summary of Position The Building Services Assistant will work with the Director of Facilities, maintenance and custodial staff to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of building operations. The position is expected to include clerical work as well as hands-on maintenance or custodial work as required. This position reports to the Director of Facilities, and will also work closely with the maintenance, custodial and finance staff.

Required Qualifications
Required Education Minimum of an Associate's degree (or equivalent earned credit hours (60)), or equivalent postsecondary education.
Required Work Experience At least two (2) years of experience in custodial/maintenance services. Experience with basic fire alarm systems. Demonstrated computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and database programs.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business, or other related field; at least one (1) year of office administrative experience; experience with web based building management systems, including temperature control, lighting control and building access controls; experience working in a College or University setting; experience with Banner and building management / maintenance software.

Duties 1. Facilitate access to buildings for all events.
2. Perform product and material inventory control.
3. Coordinate service calls and monitoring.
4. Perform building event setups and provide event coordination and support.
5. Assist and work with the maintenance staff in repairs
6. Assist the custodial staff with daily cleaning duties
7. Perform maintenance including but not limited to:
a. Electric ballast repair and conversion
b. Light bulb replacement
c. Drywall repair
d. Painting
e. HVAC maintenance (filters, oil, etc.)
f. Maintenance of cleaning equipment
g. Minor plumbing
8. Perform limited custodial duties including but not limited to:
a. Clean up spills
b. General floor cleanup (Mop / Vacuumed)
c. Trash removal
d. Window cleaning, etc.
9. Perform special projects as assigned by the Director.
10. Program parking lot gates software for special events.
11. Operate the building (web based) management systems which includes building door locks, temperature control and lighting controls.
12. Organize and lead the Hazardous Material removal program.
13. If needed, be available after hours to make remote (off campus, via internet) adjustments to building room temperatures and building access (lock and unlock entrance doors).
14. Assist building security during emergency situations.
15. Remove snow as required to keep accessible means of egress and ingress.
16. Assist the Director of Facilities with administrative and clerical duties such as quote collection, scheduling, research, updating the preventive maintenance schedule, etc.

2. Enter information on Building Maintenance Software Program - Data Entry.
3. Manage the Department's preventive maintenance master calendar.
