FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER, edX, to join a team that decides how engineering gets done at edX. Will architect and implement improvements to patterns, tools, and base libraries that are used by edX and open source developers focused on changing education through the edX platform; develop instrumentation to make developers better informed of their changes; and set patterns for use in development that makes edX's education platform accessible to learners of differing localization, ability, and needs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: real world experience with Python or other OO programming languages and comfort with full-stack development ranging from HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to Django, Rails, MySQL, etc. Delivering code to production is an essential capability. Seek someone who believes in getting things done effectively and efficiently and wants to help others do the same. Experience in an Agile development environment would be a plus; as would open source development experience and experience with continuous integration, test automation, or deployment frameworks. Experience with unit test tools such as JUnit, Rspec, Capybara, or Jasmine; familiarity with deployment automation (Ansible or Chef, Jenkins, AWS); comfort working with REST API endpoints for gathering data; experience with digital accessibility and/or automated accessibility evaluation tools (Chrome Accessibility Developer Tools, pa11y, aXe, etc.); and familiarity with WCAG 2.0 and WAI-ARIA would also be plusses. edX is a Python/Django shop, but those who have built careers in .NET, Java, Ruby, etc., may be considered.
