Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Development and Alumni Relations Information Systems, the DAR Systems & Data Analyst provides database analysis, development, support, data extraction and reporting using the DAR software systems (Raiser's Edge, RE Mobile, NetCommunity, Papersave, CampusCall, ResearchPoint, Omatics) that support fundraising, gift accounting/reporting, alumni relations, stewardship, volunteer management, prospect management, event management and membership management. Monitors and develops strategies to improve configuration and operation of software in support of DAR and college goals. Fields a variety of requests for information with varying degrees of complexity and creates analytical reports and data extraction files as needed by college staff. Performs proactive data enrichment processes to enhance data accuracy and ensures data integrity by creating QA queries to be run routinely. Works with the user to identify software issues and creates and monitors cases with vendors and IT to solve problems. Tests software upgrades and code modifications and assists in implementation. Supports data integration with other college systems such as Financial Edge (G/L) and Banner (student). Performs imports, exports, global changes and initiates record correction and clean-up projects. Provides ongoing staff system training and maintains procedure documentation for primary responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills Requirements

A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, a high school diploma/ GED is required. Extensive knowledge of basic programming, file structure, and relational database management concepts and design; thorough knowledge of MS Office especially Excel and Access; strong analytical and organizational skills with commitment to accuracy and detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; creative problem solving skills; ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions; results and deadline oriented; strong customer-service orientation; ability to work cooperatively with others in fast-paced environment and under pressure of deadlines and interruptions; sensitive to and accepting of confidentiality requirements.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

5 years of information systems data extraction, reporting and analyst experience.
Prior experience in academic fundraising environment preferred. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge enterprise system preferred. (Raiser's Edge certified if possible); extensive experience with query, export and report-writing software, preferably Crystal Reports; extensive experience requiring the use of Access and Excel; experience with accounting procedures; interest in and experience with training and working with people who have a wide range of computer skills.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Hours are primarily Monday through Friday; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with occasional work after 5:00 pm or weekends. Some travel required. This is an exempt position requiring time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements.
