Medical Records Clerk
This position exists to prioritize the day-to-day activities of Medical Record clerical support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
-Assembles, analyzes, creates medical records according to guidelines with accuracy
-Completes request for Release of Information within established timelines
-Assists physicians with chart completion process
-Files and retrieves Medical Records using the terminal digit numbering system
-Reconciles medical record discharge report with medical records picked up from units/departments
-Retrieves discharged medical records (inpatient and outpatient) from departments within the Offices
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Must be able to take directions as given by supervisor
-Ability to lift 10lbs-20lbs as needed
-Knowledge of the medical record numbering system.
-Must demonstrate good communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
-Must be professional, courteous, and have a positive attitude.
Education
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
