Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Field Services Manager this position is responsible for coordination of capital maintenance projects and the maintenance repairs for all UW-Madison campus parking facilities and surface lots. The Parking Facility Project Manager is responsible for the development, scheduling, budgeting, tracking, quality control, presentation and overall performance of projects. This position serves as liaison with UW-Madison Physical Plant staff, management, and Major Project's staff regarding ongoing construction issues. The position requires extensive communication and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with UW-Madison faculty/staff, administrative officials, and the general public.

Transportation Services manages close to 13,000 parking stalls on campus, with approximately 7,000 stalls in parking ramps or garages. Within the 17 gated parking facilities and 92 surface lot locations the position works closely with campus physical plant, campus building managers, outside contractors, internal staff, vendors, and the general public when coordinating repairs.

Due to the daily heavy usage and fluctuating climate conditions, maintenance and oversight of the parking facilities and surface lots is critical. This position will routinely evaluate and document conditions while working closely with the Field Services Manager in determining repairs and the impact on customers.

* Knowledge of principles and practices of budget development and administration.
* Knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations related to parking structures/facilities.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Knowledge of project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of and experience with architectural rendering and documentation software would be a plus.
* Ability to work under adverse weather conditions such as severe cold, extreme heat, rain, snow, and ice, as the majority of the work is performed outdoors.
* Ability to recognize and work with mechanical, physical, and spatial relationships and concepts
* General record keeping skills
