The Epistemic Game Group is a research collaborative with approximately 40 scientists, researchers, staff, and students in a multi-disciplinary research group spanning 6 academic departments and 4 institutions, plus additional research sites, with funding from multiple NSF grants. The collaborative develops epistemic games as the technological infrastructure for a new, more motivating, and more inclusive approach to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education a decade or more in the future, where students are motivated to learn STEM concepts because they play computer games based on STEM professions.

The Research Administrator will require working knowledge of, or willingness to learn and abide by, applicable policies and procedures of various UW entities, as well as applicable state and federal regulations and guidelines. The position requires strong written and oral skills to distill scientific protocols into clear, concise, and accurate communications and to communicate diplomatically, in written and verbal forms, with research sponsors, faculty, researchers, and staff at all levels. Most critical is the ability to manage several detailed projects simultaneously, complete projects in a timely manner, and meet strict deadlines required by review committees and boards, as well as by investigators and sponsors.
