Requirements: This position requires a Ph.D. in biochemistry or allied field with multiple years of experience in the study of virus-host interactions as well as RNA and protein biochemistry, and a strong publication record in the field. The candidate must also be proficient in RNA sequencing, cell culturing techniques, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and all the standard techniques used in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with Dr. Demi n Cazalla to advance understanding of the role of non-coding RNAs of viral origin in the regulation of the host's gene expression and in the establishment of viral latency.
- Train graduate students and postdoctorals in association with the Cazalla lab.

The successful candidate will be a Research Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, and in that capacity may ultimate develop and/or teach workshops and graduate lectures, interact closely with faculty and trainees in the Department of Biochemistry, serve on graduate student thesis committees as appropriate, and participate in other Departmental activities such as the weekly Research In Progress meetings.
